For the week 4 exercise 1 in chapter 7 I decided to use the IPhone as my “product used by professionals.’ The line of IPhones is not only used professionally but also for personal use for many people. Most people today communicate using a cell phone. With out cell phones being available for businesses to communicate with each other they would not run as smoothly as they should. The three following organizational patterns were found on the Apple website. https://www.apple.com/iphone/
Partition Pattern (Description of Product)
With the first glance at the Apple website all the IPhones looked to be described through pictures. The website shows different colors of the phones and different sizes. After clicking on the different types of IPhones such as the 6 Plus or just the six there are different sections that describe the phones they are: color, summary, capacity, display, weight and dimensions, chip, and carriers. Apple does a great job providing easy appropriate information for whoever is interested. The website has good colors with a white background making it more appealing to look at. If one really looks at the Apple website they will be able to find an answer to any of their questions.
Comparison and Contrast
Apple does its own comparison and contrast within its own products. The different types of IPhones are 6s, 6 and 5s on display. Each different IPhone is described and it shows the different pricing and storage that is available. The way Apple has everything at such easy access for a customer it makes the decision on what phone is best for them more convenient.
Problem-methods-solutions
There is a Support section for Apple products that help with the problem-methods-solution category. In the support section there are icons for different Apple products and I looked at the IPhone section. The section has more sub-sections that help go over any problem area one might have with the product. There are sections like setup, using IPhone, repair, and contact support.
Apple does a really great job showing not only the IPhones but also all Apple products. It is not hard to gather the information one would want to find. Finding information for the organizational patterns was very easy to do.
